A Pair of Kopics
The Kopic tunic or dress is a simple, comfy and modern necessity for any little turkey's wardrobe. Over the head jumper style = no closures... which means sewing one is fast and easy. Annnd, the kiddo can be dressed in no time flat, which is huge in our house.
It is made for knits and almost all knits will work as long as they have 30% or more stretch. I used an interlock from the Doodles Collection from Joanns. The neck and arm bands do require something a bit stretchier though (50% min), so I used a navy blue cotton rib knit, from Joann's Sew Classic line.
The little turkey has the solid front, long sleeved version. Simple and perfect. This went together like a dream. It took me longer to print and tape than it did to cut and put the dress together. It was FAST!
For the large turkey's dress I chose the optional color-block front with short sleeves. She wanted to have matching dresses, but you know I don't do matching sets, so she got something similar, but most definitely NOT the same. It's was really easy and I'm glad I tried that option. It makes it pretty unique and easy to customize and the fabric combinations are pretty much endless.
I'm really excited to take them fabric shopping again and see what they come up with for their next dress. It could be very interesting.
And now, the moment you've all been waiting for... PICTURES!!! I remembered, whilst doing this shoot, that two year-olds are most difficult and adorably uncooperative models.
