No. 9 Trousers

So I'm super excited!!! I was chosen to do a Sew&Tell for GoToPatterns.  I was given the Number 9 Trousers by Shwin&Shwin.  They are great, let me just tell you about this pattern...

What I Think:
I really love the Number 9 Trousers! They were a breeze to sew and boy, do they look great on my boy. The pattern was easy to read and follow and all of the details make these look really professional. I made a couple of changes, one being that I changed the faux fly into a zipper fly, because the boy insisted that big kids like him need zippers. Well, now I am informed! I also added buttonhole elastic to the waistband for growing room and something that resembles a tuxedo stripe down the side to make them a little bit more interesting than just plain black pants. For the stripe I just cut a width of fabric, folded it in half, sandwiched it into the side seam, and voila! I had originally intended on sewing it down, but the husband fellow thought it looked 'pretty cool' the way it was, so we left it, and I like the way it turned out! I love the way they fit in the rear and the welt pockets look so nice. I chose to add the flaps, which look really nice and kiddo likes them too. Overall, this a great pattern that I will be using a lot. I can think of a lot of ways to change these up so I have lots of great pants. I am getting together supplies to make another pair for my other little guy right now!
